Jason Williams Receives New Scholar Award from the American Society of Criminology

Jason M. Williams, assistant professor in the Department of Justice Studies, received the New Scholar Award at the American Society of Criminology conference this year. 美国犯罪学学会是一个国际组织,其成员追求有关犯罪和违法行为的测量、病因、后果、预防、控制和治疗的学术、科学和专业知识。
Williams is an activist scholar and his research focuses on critical policing, race, social control, and criminal justice policy. He is currently conducting on-the-ground critical ethnographic research in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland following the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray.
