Lucy McDiarmid, Marie Frazee-Baldassare Professor of English, was quoted in an article by Rosie Schaap in The New York Times which was published on Aug. 7, 2016. The article, “In Ireland, Chasing the Ghost of the Rebel Roger Casement,” looks at the life of this historical figure who was executed Aug. 3, 1916.

McDiarmid recently wrote a book commemorating 1916 and the centenary of the Irish Revolution. She also dedicated a chapter in one of her previous books, The Irish Art of Controversy, to Roger Casement.
