Snow and Hydrants

我们很多人的房子旁边都有消防栓； 我们中的一些人甚至在自己的房子上有消防栓。   预计到周六早上，冬季风暴尼莫期间的积雪量会很大，请记得在消防栓周围铲雪。  当消防部门需要利用消防栓等水源时，分秒秒秒都很重要。  If a fire hydrant is buried in snow, it will delay the firefighters’ ability to extinguish the fire, as they will need to shovel snow from around the hydrant- worse yet, they may not even know that a hydrant is there!  When you shovel your driveway/walkways, taking a few moments to dig out your fire hydrant may help to save your life or that of a family member or neighbor.
