Music Education and Democracy Conference 2014

The John J. Cali School of Music will host a conference, Giving Voice to Democracy in Music Education from June 20 – 22, 2014.

这次会议将提出关于培养年轻音乐家作为民主社会积极参与者的想法和前瞻性思维实践。 Featured keynote speakers will be Dr. David Elliot, celebrated author of Music Matters and Dr. Nicholas Michelli, international spokesperson for education as democratic practice. As music educators we have an obligation to teach not only musicianship but also to prepare students for active participation in an evolving society. This conference will explore how we think about these issues and translate them into meaningful music teaching practices.
