In the past five years, we have sent over 50 graduates with an MA in Applied Linguistics to:
- New Jersey Public Schools, teaching English as a Second Language and foreign languages
- PhD programs in linguistics, cognitive science, and audiology at UC Davis, Columbia, CUNY, Penn State, University of Siena, Washington University
- Publishing houses, including Oxford University Press, Pearson/Longman and Cambridge University Press
- College ESL/EFL programs, as directors and instructors
- Full-time college foreign language teachers
- Law School at Pace University
- Sign Language Interpreting
Members of the faculty of the Linguistics Department are actively engaged in research and opportunities exist for graduate students to work on faculty members’ projects.
In addition to the faculty, students have access to a research library, computer labs and internet resources. Some of the attractive features of the program include small classes, individualized instruction and independent study opportunities. Most classes meet once a week in the evening, making it possible for students to pursue graduate studies while maintaining employment.
