Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Treasury, McCann will collaborate closely with Student Development and Campus Life, Residence Life and University Facilities. She will oversee key auxiliary services, including dining services, the University Ice Arena, University Bookstore and student ID services.

McCann comes to Montclair from New Jersey City University, where she served as the Vice President of Student Life and Development and the Title IX Coordinator. She also previously served as the chief student affairs officer at Saint Peter’s University. Her responsibilities in both roles included oversight of programs, facilities, budget and personnel for Student Life and Development and its member departments, such as, Office of the Dean of Students, Student Activities, Recreational Life Center, Residence Life, Counseling, Health Services, Dining Services, Campus Safety, Conferencing and External Events, and NCAA Division I Athletics program at Saint Peter’s and NCAA Division III Athletics Program at NJCU. She also served as a member of the Cabinet and Executive Leadership Team.

“Campus Auxiliary Services has long been under the thoughtful leadership of Dr. Soufleris and the Student Development and Campus Life team, who have done a tremendous job delivering core services to the campus community,” says Vice President for Finance and Treasury Adam Rathbun. “As the University continues to grow, it’s increasingly important to align the student experience with evolving operational and business needs. Erin brings a unique blend of student affairs and auxiliary services experience, paired with a deep commitment to students and a strategic approach to business and revenue generation.”

McCann brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education in areas of auxiliary management, student dining, budgeting, supervision, contract negotiation, strategic planning, emergency response, crisis management, student conduct, Title IX, athletics, disability services, capital project management, community partnerships, and all areas of student development.

“I am excited to officially join the Montclair State University family,” says McCann. Montclair is a fantastic school with great energy and a real commitment to its students and I’m honored to be part of it. I look forward to bringing a student-centered, service-driven approach to the role and can’t wait to get to work with this amazing community.”

McCann was raised in the Greenville section of Jersey City and has deep roots in the community. She holds a B.A. in English and a minor in History from Plymouth State University, an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University and is currently working on completing her dissertation at Gwynedd Mercy University for an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership.
