Milton Fuentes, professor in the Department of Psychology, has been awarded the Peterson Prize by Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (G.S.A.P.P.) for outstanding contributions to professional psychology.  该协会将在11月的致敬午宴上为他颁奖。

The Peterson Prize is named after Donald R. Peterson, the first dean of G.S.A.P.P.  It is given to an alumna/alumnus who has made outstanding contributions to professional psychology. With the recognition, a travel scholarship given to support a student traveling to a national conference to present research.

Fuentes graduated from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University with a PsyD in clinical psychology.  His research focuses on Latina/o and multicultural psychology, child/ family psychology, pedagogy and motivational interviewing. He is a founding member and former president of the Latino Psychological Association of New Jersey and the 2012 President of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. He serves as a consultant to several programs, including the Puerto Rican Family Institute and the Violence Prevention Office of the American Psychological Association, where he directs the ACT Mid-Atlantic Regional Center. Fuentes is licensed to practice psychology in New Jersey and New York.
